When a Good Thing Goes Bad
I’ve been thinking about the COVID-19 vaccines. Here we have an opportunity to defeat this horrible disease, which I think everyone agrees is a horrible thing. But, at least in my part of the world, some people don’t want the vaccine. That’s fine; that’s their right, and the one thing all us Americans seem to agree on is that we all have our rights. On the other hand, you’ve got people who want the vaccine, but can’t get it. On the other, other hand, you have people who got the vaccine, who probably don’t need it - yet. I feel like we all have something to complain about when it comes to vaccinating against the world’s latest virus. It’s fun to be able to complain, right? (We all need a villain in our lives.)
All I’m saying is that the COVID-19 vaccine is good. COVID-19 is bad. There’s no perfect way to roll this vaccine out to a bazillion people - there just isn't. Some people don’t want it, some people who want it can’t get it, some people who got it didn’t need it. But it’s going into arms. That’s the important thing. The vaccine we have is going into arms.
